This tapestry is a value study of the fleshy ribs of a saguaro cactus, woven as part of my work for a distance mentoring program created by renowned tapestry artist, Silvia Heyden. In this program Heyden provides challenges in sketching, design, & weaving problems based on Bauhaus principles which are individually interpreted by participants, with guidance sought from Heyden as necessary. The program has three parts, with three months allowed for completion of each.
